James Tousignant

I am a long-time student of Incarnational Spirituality, taking my first class almost twenty years ago. Over that time, my engagement with Lorian has deepened as I became a Lorian Priest and later a member of the Board and Faculty.

I am interested in the actual journey of self-transformation through awareness of self in relation to the world around us, both seen and unseen.

My personal work as a spiritual seeker and professional work as a research methodologist and statistician have sharpened my observation and inquiry skills into both inner and outer experiences. Asking questions, deeply listening, and finding out for myself, all the while refining my understanding based on my experience, has been a defining feature of my

approach to living into the teachings and practices of Incarnational Spirituality.

Trusting my experience as I encounter the inevitable shifts of focus of energy along the way, I have learned to loosen and refine my way of being in the world. Similarly, now in private practice, I provide guidance and support to individuals waking up and remembering who they are in the fullness of their being and the gifts they can share in response to the call of something greater than themselves.

For me, this is an ongoing act of awareness, presence, blessing, and partnership. Whether I am facilitating a Lorian class or self-inquiry meditation retreat, leading a wilderness kayaking trip off Canada’s west coast, or working co-creatively with my garden, I am passionate about showing up as fully as I can in the moment to the work of Incarnational Spirituality.

It helps that I live in a small village on the east coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, which provides many opportunities to be nourished.
