The above quote is the beginning of a poem David Spangler wrote many years ago, a poem which always sits warmly in my heart, stirring the knowledge of my inner light to glow. It calls to my attention the conscious recall with which I can brighten the light that shines within me.
December is a time of year in which people come together worldwide to celebrate the light within the world, the light of the Sacred Mystery, and that light within ourselves, fanning the flames of our love for our world and each other.
My intent for this webinar is for us to join together to honor the highest spirit within us, to nourish the sacred flame within us each, and to support the blessings we bring to our world and our communities.
Every December I hold the focus for one of our free webinars. I started by focusing on the Solstice, the return of the light during our darkest days. For me, the dark days of winter are magical, times of feeling the life in the world drawn inward as an inbreath before moving back out into new growth. It is a time of nurturing the roots that grow and reach into the underground within us, and it is a time to remember that the light never goes away, but lives bright and alive within us.
Now, Lorian has other events around the Solstice, so here in the early days of December when the light within is also strong and bright, I invite you to join with me in celebrating joy and love, fanning the flame of your light as we move toward the Solstice

Julia Spangler is the President of the Board of the Lorian Association. She is a Lorian Priest and teaches online classes for Lorian as well as Parenting classes for local preschool parents. She lived at the Findhorn community in Scotland for two years where she met her husband, David, and the others with whom she co-founded Lorian.
