Gaianeering Weekend Forum
The Art of Gaianeering
September 28 – October 1, 2017
We are in a time when understanding Gaia and learning to live in collaboration and harmony with this planetary life, becomes more essential than ever. In the face of climate change, it may even be a key to our survival as a civilization. We need to know the Gaian life in which we are immersed. We need to become Gaianeers.
This four-day online Forum offers an opportunity to explore the idea of Gaianeering, as a work of collaboration with the multiple dimensions of Earth’s living ecologies. The Green Movement of the past few years has sought to help humanity learn to live in harmony and partnership with the natural world. We affect and are affected by the physical ecosystems of which we are a part. “Going Green” is adopting a lifestyle that turns that affect into a positive one for the health of our planet and for our own well-being.
Gaianeering is a similar approach but one that takes an expanded view of the ecology in which we are embedded. We are part of a world in which everything is a manifestation of a living energy of spirit and consciousness. The ecosystems that affect us and which we affect are more than physical but energetic as well. In this context, we are both physical and subtle beings, capable of generating and radiating subtle energies that affect and shape the world as surely as do our physical actions. Perhaps most important in uncovering how to tap our generative energies is learning how we may discover a planetary energy within ourselves, becoming “Gaia” spiritually in our interactions with the world. Becoming Gaianeers in service to each other and the world is the theme of our Forum.
The Art of Gaianeering will draw on insights from our summer Gaianeering Gathering and carries the exploration a next step, helping each of us to discover how we are capable of generating and radiating subtle energies that affect and shape the world as surely as we do with our physical actions. David Spangler will give a live and recorded talks on Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings, each at 9 am Pacific Time. The webinar topics are:
A Generative Self in a Living Universe
Engaging the Subtle Dimensions of the Planetary Ecology
Crafting a Future that Blesses the World
