Gaianeering: Weaving Our Connections with the World
A Class of Attunement and Applied Consciousness
with David Spangler and James Tousignant
Gaianeering is the practice of living one’s life in partnership with Gaia, contributing as much as possible to the wholeness and harmony of the world. Many are exploring how to do this at a physical level, developing policies, technologies, and ways of living in harmony with the environment. Lorian’s focus is upon our partnership with the subtle energy and life of Gaia and how to facilitate the emergence of Gaia’s holistic spirit. One way we can approach this is to explore being a “loom of Gaia,” weaving together in our daily life various threads that make up a Gaian wholeness.
In this class we will focus on weaving a “rainbow cloak” of Gaian wholeness by connecting our experience with seven distinct threads of Gaian life:
- The Thread of Stone
- The Thread of Air
- The Thread of Plant
- The Thread of Creature
- The Thread of Artifact
- The Thread of Fellowship
- The Thread of Soul
Each day for seven days we will explore one of these threads, weaving it into a “cloak” of practice that can support our Gaian agency and presence in our daily lives. In effect, we will be learning to weave specific connections of subtle energies into our own energy field, enlarging and enhancing our attunement to the world and our capacity to be a blessing both to ourselves and to Gaia.
The Class will use recorded guided exercises and online discussion to facilitate your experience of each of these Gaian Threads. Emphasis is on using the practices to facilitate your unique connections with each of these threads. Daily online discussions will facilitate the integration of your connection and practice into a practical partnership that can serve planetary wholeness.
- Downloadable written and audio presentation of exercises
- Daily practices over the week
- Opportunity for indepth online discussion and dialogue
David Spangler, MCS is a spiritual explorer, teacher, writer, game designer, husband, and father. Originally studying to become a molecular biologist, a childhood contact with subtle worlds blossomed while he was in college into a collaborative relationship with inner beings. He left college at the age of 20 and began his lifelong career as a freelance mystic, teacher, and explorer of subtle and spiritual realms. In the early 1970’s he became a co-director of the Findhorn Foundation community in Northern Scotland and, in 1974, a founder of the Lorian Association. His work with both his non-physical colleagues and his Lorian associates has led to the development of Incarnational Spirituality. He is the author of over twenty books.
James Tousignant, Ph.D is an ordained minister/priest of Incarnational Spirituality and a member of the Lorian Faculty. He is formally trained as an experimental psychologist/research methodologist and worked as a senior statistician within government for over 20 years. During this time, he continued to follow his passion of working with the subtle realms, living into the teachings of Incarnational Spirituality, and teaching energy medicine. He also awakened to his call to healing through the Integrative Energy Healing program at Langara College, and developed a private healing practice. Recently, James has taken on managing an organization dedicated to providing front-line services, programming and shelter to individuals with mental health and substance use challenges. James lives on Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada.
