Come into come into a broader, deeper, and more loving relationship with the varied parts of yourself.

You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

Class Description

Dates: October 10 - 20, 2019

In all of the world’s religion we are told we must love ourselves.  The Christian Bible cites the second most important commandment is “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  Well, we all know it can be challenging to love our neighbor, and it follows that we may not always feel loveable ourselves.

Most of us learn to be self-critical, and our society is more than willing to hold up a mirror to our flaws. This Discovery class explores a practice we call The Spectrum of Love Exercise which invites you to find ways of loving those parts of yourself you may find challenging. This is not a narcissistic love, but an expansive love that values all parts of your personal expression.

Class Format

In this short Discovery Class, you will choose a particular personal attribute and in small steps beginning with simply seeing it, you will slowly “turn up the dimmer switch” of love as far as you can toward a troublesome part of yourself. Each day there will be another point of focus with text and practices to guide your integration process. The class creates a supportive community to hold and share your learning and discovery.

  • Downloadable written exercises with guided audio recordings

  • Opportunity for online discussion

  • Two live and recorded webinar sessions, Sat, October, 12th at 9 am PT and Sat, Oct. 19th at 5 pm PT

Reflections by past participants:

I learned a great deal about myself and what triggers me through this course with the application of the very powerful, but gentle, practices. I knew these triggers intellectually before, but this week brought them out in a more somatic way. I watched how the application of love soothed them and brought insights. I wish I did not have these triggers, but am grateful for this week of loving them and for experiencing how love, not figuring out why, can transform. These are deeply healing practices. Thank you!.
— Christina, 2018 Participant
I’m internalizing the truth that it is partnership/love that is the key to transformation. The wounded parts of myself don’t want to be ‘healed’, or in any other way have something ‘done to’ them. They just want to be partnered in love. To be held in love gives them what they need to heal themselves, with their own sovereignty.
